Should unlimited blogging be allowed at conferences?
Scobleizer: Microsoft Geek Blogger
What happens if you allow unlimited blogging access at a conference? Unlimited photos, video taping and audio taping? Why would anyone go to a conference when they can just wait and see all the presentations either as they happen or soon there after? Just to say they were one of the FIRST to see something?
Do the PDC attendees REALLY think they have some kind of advantage over me or anyone else who didn’t attend? Knowing that Whidbey and Yukon won’t be out until 2 years after the PDC, Longhorn won’t be out until X, and knowing that MS is pumping out all of the information they received at the PDC along with new info. Sure they’ve been playing with the pre-pre beta bits, bits that have already changed since they got them. What is that really going to get them in the long run?
