I’m seeing lots of “hey, don’t they deserve to get paid for their work” type comments around the web. Yes they do, but they CHOSE to do the work. No one called them up, drew up a contract and said “build me a weblogging system, you’ll get your money when it’s complete.”. Instead they tried the ages old drug pusher marketing trick, “The first one’s free.”. Time will tell whether or not MT is addictive enough. Otherwise they’ll change or become a footnote.
