Tech Ed 2004 it’s over, was it worth it?
So I’d like to hear from everyone that attended TechEd and those who didn’t but have followed it via blogs and news sites.
Was the $xxxx you spent getting to and into TechEd worth it? What did you take away that the rest of us that didn’t attend missed out on. Is it just the networking? Because it looks like all of the technical material has been pretty well covered. I was able to buy my own Dove bars easily and without hassle so there’s one thing I didn’t miss about TechEd. I’m pretty sure I know what an object is (but apparently we .NET coders don’t REALLY know what an object is), so I didn’t miss Carl’s talk. Scott covered CodeRush here and here. So I’ve got that covered. I’m not even going to bother to link to the Visual Studio Team thingy, which to me just looks like a bunch of freely available tools glommed together but I guess since MICROSOFT is doing the glomming that makes it cool.
I just don’t get it, maybe it’s the fact that the one PDC I went to didn’t really do anything for me but I’m starting to think that these MS conferences are really just about the M&M
