beta MSN Music Store

I LOVE the new MSN Music Store

See, it just locked up IE on my machine when I clicked on "TV".

I'm of the opinion that nothing I click on in a browser window should lock up that window. I sent the error on to them. Even browsing the store made my mouse drag, I don't know what they are doing client side in IE but my machine doesn't seem to like it. No slowdown when I browse the site in FireFox. Weird. The links (top menu bar, "Music,Radio,Movies,TV") don't work in FireFox. Not that I think everything should work in beta, but c'mon.... THEY'RE LINKS! How hard can it be to get links to work cross-browser? I want to empahsize that my mouse does NOT slow down when I browse the MSN music store using FireFox but it does slow down when I browse the store using IE. Backwards much?

Their pricing seems out of whack too. Check out "Blue Train" by John Coltrane.

You can buy the entire CD for $9.90 or you can buy each of the five songs for $1.98 a piece for a total savings of .... ten cents.

Ah-Uh - Charles Mingus costs $10.89, but each song, there are twelve, on the album costs $.99. That's a better deal.

There are some problems with browsing the site itself. First, I can't browse by artist last name? That's a big deal which I hope they will fix. I do agree with Robert, competition IS good. Microsoft entering the online music store fray can only increase the quality of all online music stores. But MSN Music has a looooonnnnggg way to go to catch up.

The links at the top do work in FireFox, they just use the cursor:hand style so they don't look like links and the cursor doesn't change to an hourglass when I clicked on them but they do eventually work.

    Actually, 1.98*5=9.90.
