This is an important thread. It talks about how often and how you should update the world in your Gentoo based linux system. Bottom line: It’s better to update your system using “emerge -u system” more often and to just update individual packages than it is to “emerge -u world”. Never use the depclean option when emerging, they even pop up a lengthy warning when you do on your system.
