Google Desktop out of control

Google Desktop Search Download

Well, my Google desktop app decided that it wanted to run at 70-80% CPU utilization even after I paused the service and exited the tray application. The culprit was “GoogleFahCore”. Looks like it’s time to uninstall that and wait for the release version.

update Looks like I was wrong about Google Desktop being the problem. It turns out the GoogleFahCore_6 program that was sucking up all my time is the Google Computer Folding at Home program. It had decided to use all of my extra CPU cycles to run it’s process. Once I went in and smacked it around some. set it to run in “Conservative” mode and to never use more than 40% of my CPU it behaved itself.

What’s up… my computer’s been ridiculously laggy lately. It was driving me nuts. I’d Ctrl+Alt+Del and see nothing consuming too much CPU. Then I stumble upon GoogleFAHCore_65. Don’t know wtf it is, but I end it, simply because I’ve never seen it before. My problems have magically ceased. I looked it up on, what else, Google, and I’ve stumbled upon your page. My question is, how can I get it to permanently stop loading on my computer, I don’t want to Ctrl+Alt+Del every time I boot up. Hopefully you can get back to me via email. Thanks!

It’s seems it’s that app in your google toolbar with the ADN icon. GoogleFAH.exe or the Folding @ Home client which are the same is the huge cpu eater.
