My Tivo is retarded

I understand why some people love their TiVo, but mine has one big issue. I’m not sure it’s entirely the TiVos fault. Whenever a show has special two hour edition, it either records the first hour or the second if I have it set up as a season pass. This could be because the networks are reporting the two hour special as two single hour episodes. It’s still annoying.

    Right, not quite the Tivo’s fault. But I’ve never experienced this problem — every time Survivor or Amazing Race does this, my season pass has picked up the extras as part of the pass. Now if the network changes the broadcast time after you’ve made your daily (or weekly, or whatever) call, you won’t pick up the change — which is why the notices about “non-standard times” (for NBC, in particular) are sent out as a message.

    The one I was really having the problem with “Extreme Makeover:Home Edition”. On Sunday they had a two hour show, but my DirectTV Tivo only recorded the second hour. It did that once before when that show was extended to two hours.
