Jason talks about the ultimate best practice for ASP.NET. What Jason doesn’t realize is that there are only three solutions for ANY given question involving a Microsoft product and that “it depends” is the ultimate answer to all technical, and most scientific, questions.
The ultimate answers that you will get from any technical person regarding a problem with Microsoft technology.
1) Reboot
2) Reinstall
3) Add more RAM
This doesn’t mean that these are BAD answers and the very fact that there are only three is a testament to a lot of hard work by a lot of testers and developers at Microsoft.
In my experience answers to Linux/Unix questions are very involved and questions about an Apple problem are met with a shrug.
