What is Google up to?
Google is going to build a Hailstorm++ ?
Remember, Google also got one of the guys from the Avalon team a while ago. That’s pretty interesting to me. They’ve got a big core OS guy and a notable GUI guy. They’ve also been push applications with a richer interface than the web has really seen before while Microsoft is pushing their traditional fat smart client architecture. Are they going to release an OS? I don’t really see that happening. Are they going to start doing some really interesting things in the realm of web GUIs? I would almost bet on it.
An interesting side note is that Pat Helland has left MS to go work at Amazon.com. There seem to be a lot of public “defections” from MS lately. I wonder what the non-semi-famous attrition rate is?
