Maybe twice VS2005 has failed to launch and stays at the splash screen, which is fixed by reboot and may not at all be related to VS, but rather some other software. I did not install the sourcesafe components locally however, so i can't tell you if the SS stuff plays nicely locally. I do connect to a remote team server though, also without issue I’m running both without issue. If it works well enough at home I may try running them side by side at work too. Seems to work OK. The only glitch I have noticed so far is Visual Sourcesafe 2005, in VS2003 sourcesafe 2005 pop up the login dialog several times when I open a solution thats under sourcecontrol.
