A Hunch engine

O’Reilly Emerging Technology Conference – March 6-9, 2006 – San Diego, CA

Sessions like this make me want to attend ETech. I’m lousy at coming up with search terms when I’m looking for something. I’m going to be writing something similar, but I’m sure not as involved, as the hunch engine Dr. Bonabeau is describing. We have a need to search over incomplete, or incomprehensible to computers, patient data. So my simple filter will classify the data into “exactly what you are looking for”, “Might be what you are looking for.”, and “I couldn’t make heads or tails out of this data but there is data present in the fields you are searching so you decide if you want it or not.”.
